There are so many things to do this time of year, but hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy some much-needed downtime with family and friends. I love this time of year, and seeing the excitement of the season through my son’s eyes. It’s truly a magical time.

Timely Tips
A good rule to follow is to always edit your Christmas decorations at the beginning of the season. Donate, give away, or toss decorations that you no longer use or that have seen better days. Don’t waste good storage space on items that you don’t use or love. When it’s time to untrim the tree, consider storing your decorations in clear bins. Clear storage allows us to see what’s in each bin without having to go through them.
I have a lot of ornaments. My mom started a collection of Hallmark ornaments for my sister and I back in the ‘70s. I like to purchase ornaments on vacations as memories; and I’ve been collecting one a year for my son. I store my ornaments in these boxes. I LOVE them! They’re great for storing different sized ornaments and can accommodate up to 75 per box. I like being able to see all of the ornaments so that I can select which ones I’ll be using on the tree in a given year. It also cuts way down on undecorating time because we’re not looking for individual boxes for any one ornament.
Recycling and Donation Resources
The average person has a lot of books….and they’re sometimes difficult to get rid of without (gulp!) filling up our landfills. More Than Words in Waltham is a pretty cool organization that help empowers youth who are in foster care, court-involved, homeless or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business.
Please consider donating your books to this wonderful organization; even better, host a book drive! What a great way to give back to our future generation!
